PACE for Moms (iMOM)
The PACE for Moms program is a Web-based weight loss program for postpartum women, which was developed and demonstrated to be effective, with funding from the National Institute of Child and Human Development (NICHD). PACE for Moms offers practical steps improving dietary and activity patterns, amidst the intense demands of motherhood. In its original format, the PACE for Moms program offers 4 months of intensive Web-based intervention, followed by ongoing support to sustain improvements or continued weight loss. In addition to the Web-based intervention, optional integrated text messaging support is available and was highly rated by a subgroup of new-mom testers.
Features of the PACE for Moms program:
- A great website, full of tailored nutrition and physical activity information and strategies. Moms log on to this website every week for 16 weeks, set specific nutrition and physical activity goals, and report progress and barriers.
- E-counselor support
- Auto-generated email support (tip sheets, prompts to log on, etc.)
- Optional text messaging support, feedback and reminders
