Santech research tools are based on a solid foundation of clinical and behavioral research and testing, including experience in wireless, mobile and web health interventions, health behavior assessment, research design and evaluation. Services and products for researchers include:
- E/Balance™ – E/Balance is a portable energy balance assessment and intervention tool for real-time data capture and feedback, built around a cell phone client, wireless sensors (GPS, heart rate monitor, accelerometer…) and a web based server architecture. Its cell applications can be used for dietary, physical activity and other health behavior assessment and/or intervention purposes. Tailored logic dictates specific cell phone surveys/queries to be triggered based upon researcher parameters, with responses stored in a research database. Food and nutrition label photo capture and uploading functionality is also available, as is bar code photo capture and interpretation. E/Balance™ wireless sensors (GPS, Heart Rate Monitor, and Accelerometer) may also be used for real-time data collection and participant feedback, making it especially adaptable to the needs of researchers engaged in individual-level cognitive and behavioral intervention research, and researchers involved in active living and food environment research.
